History: https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Yennefer/Netflix_series

Personality:

Open the bottle, let your chaos explode

Yennefer comes into the world rather miserably. She’s born deformed because she’s a quarter-elf, and she is bullied and abused for most of her early life. Even when Tissaia rescued her, she wasn't kind to her. Yennefer learned from a very early age that her world was harsh and cruel, and nobody was going to look out for her but herself. Other people, they always disappoint you. Her own stepfather sold her for four marks, it was all that she was worth to him.She hated who she was. When she first came to Aretuza she tried to kill herself by slashing her wrists, thinking it was the only choice she had -- that it was at least, her choice. But Tissaia saves her, and forces her to keep learning.

And Yennefer flourishes, but while others learn to control their chaos and emotions, Yennefer is often run by her own. She impulsive, foolish, and more than anything else, she is angry. She thinks the world owes her because she has been so miserably treated. She thinks that the people who have hurt her, who have taken things from her, they deserve to suffer from it. She learns to refuse for the ugly parts of her personality, even as her outward appearance becomes more beautiful. She is a slytherin through and through, she is ambitious and puts her own survival above almost everything else. She's very good at manipulating people to get what she wants -- when Geralt first meets her we see her having basically a whole town seduced and under her skill. She learns how to use people's underestimation of her to her advantage.

But no woman is an island, and Yennefer feels a deep, deep loneliness at her core. She has always been alone, and she fears she always will be. That no matter what she does, no matter what she manages to actually accomplish, it will not be enough. Istredd and Tissaia both tell her at points that no matter how powerful or beautiful she is, no one will ever love her. She feels that deeply. She thought if she was beautiful, if she was powerful, she would finally feel important but decades past and she is still found wanting. This is part of why she latches onto the idea of having a child -- not only because the choice was taken from her and she hates when choices are taken from her -- but because she wants to be important to someone. And when she begins to be involved with Geralt it feels like maybe, for once, she is.

But Yennefer has trust issues and when she finds out about Geralt's wish, how he bound their fates together through the djin, she is unable to trust her own feelings, let alone his. She finally had the love she's craved for her entire life, and it's not enough. At this point, she is tired and worn out, and resigned to die.

And yet, when Tissaia and the other sorceresses reach out for her help at Sodden Hill, she agrees to fight. Yennefer may seem selfish, but when Nilfgard attacks she cannot turn a blind eye and let all those people die without fighting back. And she does fight. She gives commands, she reaches out to other, and when it finally comes down to it, she lets it all out. All that anger, all that resentment, all that pain, she lets it out in a fiery explosion that envelopes the battlefield.

She still has some fight in her, it turns out. She's not ready to give up like she thought. And now, in Deerington, she will have plenty of new obstacles to overcome as well.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:

Yennefer as a sorceress from her world posseses very powerful magic. The way I plan on warping is this:

Her spells will misfire randomly so she can’t count on them getting her out of any bad situation. Sometimes they will work, sometimes they won’t. Beyond that her magic runs on the idea of balance and control, sometimes it will take more out of her and her surroundings than it should, possibly even inflicting harm on others, if players consent to that.

The other way is she relies on telepathic magic a lot to gain the upperhand – sometimes she’ll hear the weird whispers like when she first arrived, and sometimes it’ll work, and sometimes it’ll be like radio static. The reception is really bad out here.

Inventory:
-1 set of clothes
-a morter and pestel
-a makeup kit from her era
-a bag of various herbs for spells
-a small knife
-a flower

Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: yes

What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: I like really exploiting people’s insecurities and fears, I like psychological horror more than like physical torture. I like how fear can both bring people together and tear them apart. Backing a character into a corner can bring out parts of them you never expected, sometimes.
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: Rape/noncom, dubcon too
Additional Information: slides under the door last minute like Indiana jones
